Exam
includes tests for vision error correction,
binocular and focusing function, cataracts, glaucoma
and any other eye diseases.
If any health problem is detected, the
patient is referred to the appropriate specialist.
Diagnosis
and Treatment of Eye Diseases
Services
include diagnosis and treatment of minor eye
diseases such as ‘pink eye’, eye allergies,
foreign body removal and other minor conditions.
If a more serious eye disease is detected,
the patient is referred to the appropriate
specialist.
Contact
Lens Services
Includes
measuring for and fitting standard soft contact
lenses, rigid gas permeable contact lenses,
monovision technique for bifocal wearers, bifocal
contact lenses.
Difficult
to Fit Contact Lenses
Dr.
Gambino specializes in fitting contact lenses on
distorted or warped corneas.
An eye disease called keratoconus or
refractive surgeries like radial keratotomy and
Lasik or trauma can cause distorted corneas.
He also is skilled in Vision Shaping Treatment™ or
corneal molding which is the fitting of computer
assisted designed rigid gas permeable lenses.
The wearing of such a lens reshapes the
corneal surface so that the patient can eventually
achieve vision without the lenses.
The goal of the procedure is for the patient
to only wear the lenses as a retainer during sleep.
